The Farmer and the Land

Thought to pen a little poem about a PM who really does not appear to care...

The Farmer and the Land

The ox must pull, the horse must stride, the rooster calls the break of day,
The hound must guard, the hens must lay, and each must toil in rightful way.
But if the farmer shirks his task, the fields grow bare, the barns stand dry,
And where there once was feast and cheer, now hollow winds and famine cry.

A kingdom, like a farmstead wide, must heed the hands that work the land,
For rulers weak, like farmers blind, shall sow but dust where grain should stand.
Let not the fool who leads astray be left to reign through sloth or pride,
For nations starve when wisdom fails, and fortune turns like shifting tide.
